Our Mission
Our organization advocates for practical solutions that aid formerly incarcerated individuals during reentry, emphasizing the critical need for consistent access to mental health treatment and community stability.
Our goals
Life-Skills Programs
Programming for individuals who are incarcerated — building the practical and personal skills that support a successful return home.
Voter Registration & Education
We register community members to vote and help people with a felony conviction understand when and how they can vote again.
Family & Community Support
We stand with families and bring the wider community together through events, resources, and partnerships that create real change.
How it all started
In 2011, a small group of people who had seen incarceration up close (as family members, as volunteers, as people who had lived it) decided they were done watching the system fail people twice: once at sentencing, and again at release. They started teaching life skills inside correctional facilities. They started registering neighbors to vote. They became Working Together for Change, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit built on one conviction: change happens when we work together, as one.
Today we provide life-skills programs to individuals during and after incarceration, reentry support once they come home, and voter registration and education — so a past conviction never has to mean a permanently silenced voice.
